While fans hang tight for Woman Crazy’s hotly anticipated seventh studio collection, Mother Beast is ensuring her Little Beasts stay took care of with another new task.
On Friday (Sept. 27), Crazy shared Harlequin, her new 13-track collection themed after her personality Harley Quinn from the impending film Joker: Folie à Deux. Overflowing with fronts of old works of art — including reconsidered showtunes like “Hello” (Singing in the Downpour) and “In the event that My Companions Could See Me Now” (Sweet Foundation) — Harlequin “praises a figure who blossoms with risk, who lives for the undefinable, and who embraces the wonderful bedlam of her own fantasies,” as per a public statement.
Harlequin additionally includes two unique melodies — the emotional three step dance “Folie à Deux” and the laden acoustic anthem “Cheerful Mix-up” — that play further into the topics of the impending film. The vocalist affirmed the presence of her new firsts during an honorary pathway interview at the film’s London debut on Wednesday (Sept. 25), saying that “Blissful Misstep” is “for the collection just … it’s this truly fascinating, unique creation.”
The new LP was first obscurely prodded on announcements around Los Angeles and New York City as “LG 6.5” or “LG Six.Five.” The brief title referred to Crazy’s abundantly examined seventh studio collection — which fans have named “LG7” — and explained that Harlequin isn’t the development to 2020’s Chromatica. Crazy has affirmed that the primary single from her next collection will be dropping in October, while the untitled collection is expected out in February 2025.
