Questlove, Normal, RAYE, Andra Day and Younger Sibling are among the ability containing the setup for Robert Glasper’s impending residency at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City. Starting off Oct. 2 and going through Nov. 3 with two shows every evening (8 p.m., 10:30 p.m.), the Grammy champ’s famous Robtober residency will stamp its 6th year.
In an explanation given to Bulletin, Blue Note overseer of programming/ability purchaser Alex Kurland said, “Robert Glasper is a huge and powerful power at Blue Note and his yearly residency is profoundly expected. Robert’s presence and effect at Blue Note have profoundly roused the way of life, energy and tone of the setting by and large in a significant manner. Robert’s impact and the effect of the residency is firmly felt all year, and he has made the way for some specialists performing at Blue Note. The force of Robert’s residency motivated the idea of the yearly Napa Celebration we present, presently in its third year. With the current year’s Blue Note residency, Robert’s curation of exceptional visitor coordinated efforts incorporates stalwart specialists RAYE, Normal, Andra Day, Questlove and that’s just the beginning, alongside off the cuff shock visitor minutes. Robert and his residency proceed to sparkle and motivate.”
Beside the previously mentioned Robtober acts, a unique presentation will honor late Glasper partner and saxophonist Casey Benjamin. Among the entertainers on the Oct. 30 date at Sony Lobby are Glasper, Chris Dave, Derrick Hodge and Stefon Harris. All returns from this occasion will help the Casey Benjamin Remembrance Asset.
